Physical Exams

Convenient Physicals for Work, School, Sports & Surgery

Whether you’re preparing for a new sports season, starting school, getting ready for surgery, or need a DOT medical examination for your career, You Matter Healthcare provides convenient physical examinations in a comfortable and professional setting.

Our providers perform a comprehensive evaluation based on the requirements of your specific physical and complete the appropriate documentation when medically appropriate.

Appointments are available for sports, school, pre-operative, and DOT physicals.

Sports Physicals

Before participating in organized sports, many schools and athletic programs require a sports physical.

A sports physical helps determine whether an athlete has medical conditions or physical limitations that may affect safe participation.

Your evaluation may include:

  • Review of medical and family history
  • Height, weight and vital signs
  • Vision screening
  • Heart and lung examination
  • Musculoskeletal evaluation
  • Review of previous injuries
  • Assessment of current medical conditions
  • Review of medications
  • Completion of required sports forms

Please bring any forms required by your school, athletic organization, or sports program to your appointment.

School Physicals

You Matter Healthcare provides school and student physical examinations for children and adolescents when required for school enrollment, activities, or educational programs.

The examination may include:

  • Height, weight and vital signs
  • Medical history review
  • Physical examination
  • Vision screening
  • Review of medications and allergies
  • Review of chronic medical conditions
  • Immunization record review when applicable
  • Completion of required school forms

Parents and guardians should bring the student’s school physical form and available immunization records to the appointment.

Additional testing or immunizations may be recommended or required depending on the school’s requirements and the student’s medical history.

Pre-Operative Physicals

If you’re scheduled for surgery or a medical procedure, your surgeon may request a pre-operative medical evaluation before your procedure.

At You Matter Healthcare, we can perform a pre-operative evaluation and coordinate required testing based on the orders or requirements provided by your surgeon or surgical facility.

Your pre-operative evaluation may include:

  • Complete medical and surgical history
  • Medication and allergy review
  • Vital signs
  • Physical examination
  • Assessment of chronic medical conditions
  • Review of previous anesthesia or surgical complications
  • Laboratory testing when ordered or clinically indicated
  • EKG when required and available
  • Diagnostic imaging orders when required
  • Review of available test results
  • Completion of pre-operative documentation

Please Bring Your Surgeon’s Pre-Op Orders: Every surgeon and facility may have different requirements. Patients should bring or have their surgeon send us their pre-operative clearance request, required laboratory orders, EKG requirements, and any other requested testing before the appointment whenever possible.

A pre-operative evaluation does not guarantee surgical clearance. Additional testing, specialist evaluation, or clearance from another healthcare professional may be necessary depending on your medical history, examination, test results, and the type of procedure planned.

DOT Physicals

You Matter Healthcare provides Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations for commercial motor vehicle drivers.

DOT examinations are performed according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) medical standards by a medical examiner listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.

Your DOT examination generally includes:

  • Medical history review
  • Blood pressure and pulse
  • Vision testing
  • Hearing evaluation
  • Urinalysis as required for the DOT medical examination
  • Cardiovascular and respiratory examination
  • Neurological evaluation
  • Musculoskeletal assessment
  • Review of medications and medical conditions
  • Other evaluation or documentation required by FMCSA standards
