Nurse Practitioner Preceptorship Opportunities

At You Matter Healthcare, we believe in supporting the next generation of nurse practitioners. We offer clinical preceptorship opportunities for eligible nurse practitioner students seeking hands-on experience in a community-based healthcare setting.
Our preceptorship experience is designed to help students strengthen clinical reasoning, patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, documentation, and professional communication while working alongside experienced healthcare providers.
Clinical Learning Opportunities
Depending on your academic program, required competencies, patient population, and clinical availability, students may have opportunities to gain experience in areas such as:
- Primary care
- Acute and same-day care
- Preventive healthcare
- Annual and wellness examinations
- Chronic disease management
- Women’s health
- Weight management
- Laboratory and diagnostic evaluation
- Medication management
- Patient education
- Physical examinations
- Clinical documentation
- Differential diagnosis and treatment planning
- Referrals and coordination of care
Clinical experiences will be determined by the student’s educational requirements, provider scope of practice, patient needs, and available learning opportunities.
Who May Apply?
Preceptorship opportunities may be available to students enrolled in accredited graduate nursing programs, including:
Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students and other nurse practitioner students whose required clinical experiences align with the services and patient populations available at You Matter Healthcare.
Applicants must meet all requirements established by their university and You Matter Healthcare before beginning clinical hours.
Preceptorship Fees
Preceptorship fees apply and are based on the number of clinical hours required.
Fees will be discussed with the student before placement is finalized. Payment arrangements and applicable policies will be provided as part of the preceptorship agreement.
Submission of an application or payment of an application fee, if applicable, does not guarantee placement. Clinical placement is dependent upon provider availability, scheduling capacity, required affiliation agreements, and whether we can appropriately meet the student’s educational objectives.
Before Starting Clinical Hours
Approved students may be required to provide documentation such as:
- Current résumé or CV
- Government-issued identification
- Current RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Professional liability insurance, if required
- Immunization and health-clearance documentation
- TB screening
- Background check and/or drug screening when required
- HIPAA and OSHA training documentation
- School clinical requirements and learning objectives
- Clinical-hour requirements
- Preceptor/faculty contact information
- Required university affiliation or clinical agreement
Additional documentation may be required depending on the student’s school and clinical program.
What We Expect From Our Students
Students participating in clinical rotations at You Matter Healthcare are expected to demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, respect for patients and staff, appropriate clinical attire, confidentiality, and a willingness to learn.
Students are expected to arrive prepared, actively participate in appropriate patient-care activities under supervision, complete documentation as directed, and remain within their student scope and level of competency.
